Hunger King, Budapest

Jani Leinonen has opened a hoax fast food restaurant called Hunger King in Budapest, Hungary to highlight how the Hungarian government deals with homeless and poor people. The project has received great media attention worldwide and Euronews has reported on the project in 14 different languages.

The Skull Show, San Francisco

Jiri Geller is included in The Skull Show at the Bedford Gallery, San Francisco, USA. The exhibition examines the role that skulls have played in the historical register, as memento mori, traditional religious icons and vanitas themes in still life paintings but also highlights the role the skulls has played in the contemporary arts.

Jani Leinonen is taking part in Hyvinkää Art Museum’s summer exhibition Heponauta, opening in June 2014. 28 artists have been invited to take part in the exhibition addressing the theme of food, nutrition and food phenomenon.

Jani Leinonen‘s works are included in the video festival Utopian Days x Freedom at the Total Museum of Contemporary Art in Seoul, Korea.

The Festival Utopian days x Freedom aspires at creating a space, where people have the opportunity to openly think, approach and share about the concept of freedom. Strong artworks and relevant actors, from different academic backgrounds, have been chosen to share and cross their concern with the theme of Freedom.

Jiri Geller´s Sugar Happy (Pink) drew the Spanish royals attention at ARCOmadrid

Prince Felipe and Princess Letizia visited the Showroom Helsinki booth on Thursday 20.2 at ARCOmadrid 2014 together with the Finnish Minister of Culture and Sport Mr. Paavo Arhinmäki. “They were extremely interested in the works of Geller” Arhinmäki commented after the visit. Various Spanish medias also wrote about the Prince couples interest in Geller’s works.
